The Harvard College Parents Fund is a fundraising organization that aims to enrich the academic journey for both current and prospective Harvard College students. To achieve this goal, the fund relies on the generous contributions of a widespread network of donors. Additionally, a pivotal element of its accomplishments can be attributed to the essential involvement of volunteer leaders who are deeply invested in their children's educational experience through the Harvard College Fund parents committee.
Two leadership roles within the committee are invitation-only - the co-chair position and the vice chair position. Co-chairs must provide the Harvard College Fund with an annual donation of more than $100,000, which should be designated as flexible and immediate-use funds. These members are leaders of the Harvard College Fund parents committee and serve on the Harvard College Fund executive committee.
The vice chair members are required to make an annual donation of at least $1,000 to the Harvard College Fund, and they, along with the co-chairs, help mentor and support a small group of volunteers through the parents committee's peer advisory network. Like co-chair members, vice chairs may serve a two-year renewable term, accountable for signing off on occasional solicitation and stewardship communications.
